The complete 500,000 tons per year billet melt shop installed new in 1995 ~ 1996 with a 100 Ton Fuchs D.C. electric arc furnace and a 3 strand Concast Continuous billet casting machine .
The plant was mothballed in the year 2000, it operated for 4 years. It was shut down in April. 2001, 7 years ago, it has been constantly maintained, they were Operating the melt shop at annual capacity of 500,000 tons per year, but maximum capacity of the melt shop is 750,000 tons per year. There is a large thick booklet listing all of spare parts, the most important spare part for the EAF is brand new TRANSFORMER, there is also a new PIN BOTTOM for the EAF. There is also a new ROLLER BEARING still in the box for the turret that holds the 2 tundishes for the CASTING MACHINE.
